Woodland 5 On the day entries available.

The first race was a huge success (full results here) and we have plenty of spaces for the next two events.

Training rota

To help those who may get confused by our training rota it roughly follows:


1st Tuesday - Luckley Lane Loops

3rd Tuesday - Wokingham workout

All Thursdays from Finchampstead Sports CLub.

Last Thursday in June/July/August are the club Handicaps


1st Tuesday - Reading Road Run

2nd Tuesday - normal run

3rd Tuesday - normal run in reverse

Then alternate normal run and in reverse until end of month

1st Thursday - off road run

2nd Thursday - normal run

3rd Thursday - hlills session

Then alternate normal runs and hills for the remainder of the month


If there are no other events on, (such as cross country, hash run, etc) then Sunday runs start at 9am form Finchampstead Sports Club. These vary in length but are typically long runs to enable everyone to build up thei8r miles. Distances thus range from 8 to 20+ miles as people prepare for marathons. Routes can cover a wide area and may also start in different locations to take advantage of different routes. Members are encouraged to send an email out to all club members if they are thinking of running to make sure they know what run is happening and for people to wait for them if they’re running late.

In addition, maps of a variety of length runs are available in the foyer of the Finchampstead Sports Club. Any runner may borrow these laminated maps to take out onto a run. Please remember to return them when you finish.

The Thursday training run is approximately 6.5 miles long but varies more widely during the summer. During the summer we meet at the Finchampstead Sports Club, Finchampstead, RG40 4JU and head out along the various paths and bridleways in the area with runs ranging between 5 and 8 miles in length, giving people plenty of choice of which route to take.

In the winter we move the start of the run to Morgan’s Recreation Ground in Crowthorne. RG45 7LD. The standard run is a 6.5 mile road based route that takes us down to Sandhurst and back.

Thursdays are a good night for new members to join us as the pace is usually a bit slower and there are always shorter routes to take.

The Tuesday training run is approximately 6.5 miles long, although there are longer loops and shorter cut-offs for those who wish to do that bit more/less. This tends to be a faster run, through we do split into groups to try and keep together. We meet outside St Crispin’s Sports Centre on London Road, Wokingham RG40 5SL at 7pm with the run lasting about an hour. During the summer we follow a route that takes us out into Gorrick woods and back into Wokingham. In Winter we follow a road-based route around Wokingham, occasionally running it in reverse for a change.

We have regular training runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and (when there are no events) Sundays.

Sometimes the regular run is replaced with a different session such as the Reading Road run, Hills Sessions, or Handicap runs. See the Events calendar for the schedule.
